Happy Holidays!
After a near meltdown on a rude cashier at target yesterday I’ve managed to become grounded once again and ready as ever to soak up some holiday cheer. All in all, aside from the chodes I work for/with, it has shaped up to be a pretty joyous month. I encourage everyone to spend TIME with and on their loved ones. If you love me, invite me over for dinner! Spend time with me. I don’t need any more stuff. If I don’t have it by now, I don’t need it.
It’s about time honest humans reigned in the almighty Cashmas Spirit. It’s sick. Everyone, and I DO mean EVERYONE, complains about the commercialism, the loss of meaning, and the generally rotten time they spend a large portion of the holidays enjoying. So, rather than mindlessly going along with it for another year, teaching another generation of children that our religions’ precious holidays are all about the benjamins, how about NOT doing that. Jesus does not need to loves him some $200 tennis shoes!
Stop it! Just stop it! Get off the wagon with me and help bring some meaning back to the holidays. Help remove some of the bad feelings, guilt, competition and the equation of love with money.
I know 2 people read this at best, but wow, if only a million people did this what would be the effect?
I’d love to see.
